Gilded brass frame. Guard with six branches forming a shell called "battle guard". Octagonal cap with short tail decorated with features. Wooden handle covered in black waxed calfskin with copper filigree. Montmorency-style blade, with a hollow side, length 93 cm. It is engraved a third on its front side “GUARD OF CONSULS”. On the back side, a trophy of arms with bundle of lictors and floral decorations is engraved. It is hallmarked “B” surrounded by a crown of pearls from S.F. Beaumaretz, inspector from September 1803 to June 1807 and an illegible hallmark. Scarlet wool tie. Black patent leather scabbard with three gilded brass fittings engraved with lines and cut-out edges in the shape of a festoon. Brass pitons and iron bail rings.
