Well-marked gold star, with five double rays with buttoned points, enameled in white, topped with a crown. Star surrounded by light green enamelled oak and laurel leaves.
Obverse center in gold representing against a background of a radiant sun the profile of the crowned head of the Emperor, head to the right, surrounded by a circle of blue enamel with the inscription in gold letters as highlight: “NAPOLEON EMPEREUR DES FRENCH ".
Center reverse showing the Imperial Eagle on an azure field, head to dexter, surrounded by a circle of blue enamel with the gold motto: “HONOR AND HOMELAND”.
Star surmounted by a crown, independent and surmounted by a small ball through which the suspension ring passes, presenting eight large florets with eight arches. Small green and scarlet enamels adorn the base of the crown.
The crown has a hook inside to be passed through the suspension ball of the easel located between the two upper branches of the cross.
Scarlet rosette ribbon.
