PAIR OF EPAULETTES AND DRAGON OF COUNTER ADMIRAL'S FULL DRESS, Third Republic. 25993

They are embroidered with twists and gold sequins. The body is embroidered with a design depicting a V-shaped stick braid bordered by a scalloped framing strip on black velvet; its crest is decorated with a shield adorned with two silver stars framing a gilded brass anchor.
The fringes are in large matte twists. The outline is made up of three turns: a large one in matte satin and shiny yarn rolled alternately on a cotton core; a second, interior, in small twisted matte Milanese, mixed with another simple shiny one; a third, of the same work, is applied below the thick one, at the beginning of the fringe.
Uniform button 1872 (half-curved, burnished and matt gilded, stamped in relief with the arms of general officers, plumed helmet surmounting a shield stamped with a star on a background of lictor's bundle and flags), fixed at the top of the epaulette body by a strong clip and placed below, at the corresponding part.

Strap entirely in gold trimmings, with so-called “spinach seed” fringes, with two silver stars.
