DETAILS OF INFANTRY OFFICER'S BELT, model 1850, Second Republic, Presidency of Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte, 1848-1852. 28187

In black patent leather entirely covered with a gilded silver trimmings braid with three black silk threads, width of the belt 4.2 cm, length 83 cm. Gilt brass buckles with gilt brass belt tray (H 6 cm, width 5.5 cm) decorated with a winged republic and a ribbon bearing the inscription “HONEUR PATRIE” (in two parts). Two suspension straps for the leather saber covered with gilded silver braid with a black silk border.
