Leather shaft (H 10.5 cm at the front, 14 cm at the back) covered in dark sky blue cloth, bordered at the top with a gold braided lizard trimmings, H 2.5 cm, and at the bottom of a black patent leather bourdalou 2.3 cm high. On both sides, two braids in gold lizard-woven trimmings, sewn in a V shape with a sky blue silk stripe in the center, 3.5 cm wide framing a sky blue lacquered brass aerator placed in the upper part. Oval cap in black patent leather. Round-shaped visor in black patent leather (width 5 cm) with golden brass bangle folded astride the outer edge, lining in striated sheepskin and green waxed. Front plate in gilded brass stamped in relief with a flaming bomb surmounting a ribbon bearing the inscription “SCHOOL SPECIAL MILITARY” (H 8 cm, width 11.5 cm). Chinstrap formed of intertwined rings in chiseled gilded brass ending on each side with a round rosette 2.6 cm in diameter in gilded brass stamped with a flaming bomb. Inner headdress made up of a black waxed sheepskin headband.
White hanging rooster feather plume with a scarlet base called “cassowary”.
