Military medal, engraving by Désiré Albert Barre, in silver and enamel, presenting on the obverse side an effigy of the Republic in crowned profile, bordered by a blue enamel scroll, slightly missing, with the legend "FRENCH REPUBLIC - 1870 -" and framed by a wreath of laurel leaves, reverse, central medallion bearing the inscription “VALUE AND DISCIPLINE”, bordered by a blue enamel scroll, and the reverse of the same wreath of laurel leaves.
Single-sided ram, mobile, and presenting a weapons trophy. Center obverse and reverse, knots connecting the wreath of laurel leaves and bail, gilded.
Yellow silk ribbon bordered with two light green vertical stripes.

Complete miniature of his ribbon.

Cardboard box covered with gold-plated brown paper “MILITARY MEDAL”, lined with ivory silk and brown velvet.
