In cast steel, quenched in rapeseed oil and blue annealed in a sand bath. The edges are folded outwards.
Breastplate forming busk and pronounced back edge. It is garnished with ten brass rivets, inside the plastron is complete with its ten hooks to attach the quilted vest. Breastplate numbered on the outside “785”, signed “Manufre Rle de Klingenthal Nbre 1831 3T 2L N°2469”.
Backrest garnished with ten brass rivets on the outside, complete with ten steel hooks on the inside to secure the quilted vest. At the top, the two black cowhide straps are attached, garnished with two brass chains and ending with a brass buttonhole plate with the end in black waxed leather cut into the shape of a heart. Brass suspender holder with three rivets. Interior marking “Manufre Rle de Châtellerault 7bre 1845 3T 2L N°1293 (?)”.
