PERRIN REVOLVER, model 1859, Second Empire. 28141
Perrin model 1859 revolver with open frame of the 2nd type with short door, marked on the left "Perrin & Cie Bté", on the right with a star "PARIS", numbered 495 on the barrel and the barrel. 6-shot barrel using a central percussion metal cartridge in 12 mm Perrin caliber with large bead (same caliber as the 12 mm Galand). Operation is exclusively double action with a crestless hammer. The finish is original burnished, with an uncheckered varnished walnut handle.
Round barrel, 14.6 cm long, rifled. Length 29 cm. Cap marked with the name of its owner “Daguet. A/9th Dragoons.”

BIOGRAPHY :
Armand DAGUET, born September 14, 1835 in Honfleur, was a student at Saint Cyr from 1854 to 1856. Appointed second lieutenant, he was assigned to the 1st dragoon regiment. Promoted to Lieutenant in March 1864, he took courses at the Saumur school as an instructor lieutenant. On 14/8/1870, he was appointed Captain, instructor in the 9th Dragoon Regiment, but during the Battle of Rezonville, on August 16, 1870, he was still in the ranks of the 1st Regiment. During the charge, he was injured by two saber blows (one to the upper lip, the other to the right hand). After the war, which he ended in captivity, he was named knight of the Legion of Honor on December 31, 1872. In 1874, he took command of a squadron of his regiment. On October 10, 1881, he was promoted to Squadron Leader in the 14th Dragoon Regiment. He died in 1893.
