BIOGRAPHY:
Georges Jean Clément FOUILLÉ. Born in 1909 in Paris, Passed away in 1994 in Leucate.
Appointed official painter of the French Navy in 1947.
Originally intended for the navy, his health forced him to give it up. Georges Fouillé then turned to maritime painting, being appointed as the official navy painter, he embarked on the Richelieu in 1949.
Fouillé aimed to combine art with historical research. He brought a historian's precision to his work.
Mr. Fouillé also created lead soldier figurines, as well as dioramas and models.
