Gilded bronze frame. Guard with four branches decorated with laurel leaves. Short-tailed crown with laurel branches. Horn handle. Straight blade with double hollow sides and rounded back, length 88.5 cm, hallmarked “S” under the star of the 2nd class controller Schütz, February 14, 1854 - June 29, 1872 at the Châtellerault Manufacture, and a round hallmark with “B. .” (and an illegible letter); on its front side, it is acid-etched on its first third with the initials “DJ” surrounded by corollas of foliage on the front side and on its rear side with the inscription “Ullz 1855” surrounded by corollas of foliage; back of blade signed “Manufre Imple du Châtellerault June 1855”.
