Brass frame. Guard with one branch hallmarked with the rooster (hallmark for revolutionary productions from 1793) and signed “Varnier”, numbered “8” and hallmarked “A” at the quillon. Long-tailed cap. Calfskin-covered wooden handle. Curved blade with hollow sides punched with lictors' beam, length 85 cm. Natural buffalo tie. Wooden scabbard covered in black waxed leather with two large brass fittings with iron rings, just like the stinger.

Good condition, blade with oxidation from use, leather of the scabbard slightly rubbed, 2 cm missing from the bowl of the scabbard cover.
