Iron frame. Guard with two main branches and two secondary branches. Pierced bivalve keyboard. Oval shaped pommel. Wooden handle entirely filigree brass. Brass ferrules decorated with features. Straight two-sided blade, length 89.5 cm, engraved on the front with the Armes de France and the inscription “Gendarmerie de France” and a fleur-de-lys near the heel; on the back, the Arms of France, “Vive Le Roy” and a fleur-de-lys engraved near the heel. Black waxed leather scabbard with three steel fittings decorated with scalloped edge features.
