OFFICER'S SHAKO OF THE 1st MARINE INFANTRY REGIMENT, model 1856, Second Empire. 27586
In black patent leather, carcass reinforced at the top with a black patent leather band 1.5 cm wide, at the bottom with a bourdalou 2 cm wide and each with two leather strips 2 cm wide wide V-stitched with black lacquered metal vent. Square visor in black patent leather, green inside, with “H” stamp.
Gilt brass plaque stamped in relief and cut in the shape of an eagle placed on a globe cut out with the number "I", the globe is framed by a branch of laurel and oak and two marine anchors. H 10 cm, width 9.6 cm. Complete with its rear mounting bracket.
Tricolor lacquered metal cockade.

Fairly good condition, shako with some wear, bourdalou repair to the left of the visor, crack at the left end of the visor, missing interior cap, label with illegible receipt stamp.
The shako is of the infantry troop model and has been reassembled with a good marine infantry officer's plate, the two pieces are authentic but do not correspond to each other.
