Cardboard barrel covered with dark blue cloth, bordered on the upper part with a white woven braid called cul-de-dé, bourdalou in black patent leather. At the front, 3 mm wide white wool braid in the shape of a Hungarian knot with a width of 135 mm and a total height of 30 mm.
White metal cockade, 41 mm in diameter, painted in the tricolor blue-white-red colors to which is attached a double-strand square braid in white trimmings held by a brass button.
On the sides, dark blue lacquered copper vents. Chin strap composed of circular brass rings intertwined in the shape of a curb chain and mounted on a core of lined black velvet cloth, largely unstitched. On the sides and at the back three lion heads in gold metal hold the chin strap, visor in black patent leather surrounded by a gold brass bangle folded astride the outer edge.
Inner headdress composed of a blackened soft leather headband topped with a black satin headdress.
Spherical wool pompom, 37 mm in diameter, scarlet of the 2nd squadron.
