HELMET OF FIREFIGHTERS OF THE COMMUNE OF LAMOTHE, Second Empire type. 24553
Helmet made entirely of brass. Bomb topped with a crest stamped with a decreasing series of thirteen gadroons. Mask hit with a flaming bomb. Each fin is attached to the bomb using three round head screws. Black hair caterpillar. Front and rear headbands stamped with raised nets. Movable visor decorated with two crossed axes. Neck cover surrounded by a brass ring. Front plate was changed under the Third Republic, it is stamped in relief with a flaming bomb escutcheon placed on oak and laurel branches, crossed axes and a bundle of flags; in the lower part ribbon bearing the inscription “Srs POMPIER DE LAMOTHE”. Plume holder of square section decreasing slightly towards the bottom, complete with its tightening screw. Chinstraps each composed of a rosette stamped with gadroons in relief and a leather chin strap covered with a brass plate stamped with a series of scales in relief.
Complete with its tricolor plume with adjutant's olive in mixed gold and scarlet threads.

Good condition, missing a screw fixing the crest, small accidents and cracks on a wing of the crest, a few bomb hits, missing the interior cap, the original Second Empire type plate was replaced in 1872.
