Round bomb in golden tombac (alloy with a high content of copper 85 to 90%, and zinc) used for the copperworks of the guard since Alexander I. The height of the bomb is 17 cm, it is pierced at the top with a suction hole for ventilation.
Round visor 4.3 cm wide. Neck cover with notches attached to the bomb by six silver-plated copper rivets and garnished with five rivets around its perimeter, silver 6.4 cm. Ribs to reinforce the bomb which stop at the nape of the neck.
Visor and neck cover edged with a silver-plated copper bangle folded astride the outer edge, width 0.5 cm.
At the front of the helmet is placed the star of Saint Andrew, H 10.8 cm, width 10.5 cm, emblem of the guard, silver rays, in a blue circle and the quote of the order “For the Faith and Fidelity” in golden letters, all five of a beaded wand, diameter 4.6 cm. The center is in gilded metal stamped in relief with a radiant background, with in its center the black and gold enameled eagle whose wings are lowered on its chest, height 1.4 cm, width 1.3 cm, Saint Andrew's cross blue enameled.
Chinstraps each composed of a chin strap in black waxed leather covered with a descending series of 16 nickel silver scales cut alternately into two and three festoons, the widest is 2.2 cm, the last 1.3 cm, ending with the last rounded scale (one with a small hook and the other with a hole to attach to the hook); an oval rock case with two rushes in relief, H 2.2 cm, L 2.4 cm.
Metal cockade (from 1859) on the right under the chin strap, stamped with a radiant sun with silver outer circle, then orange, black and orange, diameter 6 cm.
Inner headdress composed of a strong brown leather turban at the bottom of which is sewn a bordered sheepskin headband with an upper edge cut into a festoon and on the side a gold silk headdress in two parts.
Depending on the outfit, the helmet is topped with the double-headed eagle in nickel silver (full outfit) or the flaming grenade (small outfit), Height 19.5 cm, Width 15.5 cm, Length 21 cm. It rests on a scalloped plate attached to the bomb by means of three round head screws and wing nuts.
Good state of conservation, some chips and gaps in the blue enameled circle of the front plate, silk of the inner cap worn, missing the linings of the visor and the neck cover.
