ARTILLERY COLONEL'S CAP, model 1867, Second Empire. 27504
Headdress in dark blue cloth, headband (H 3 cm) surmounted by five flat grade braids in gold trimmings (H of the headdress 3.5 cm), at the front is fixed a stamped and gilded brass sign with a flaming bomb surmounting two crossed cannons (H 3 cm, L 3.3 cm), cap with Hungarian knot drawn by a triple golden braid. Half-spherical buttons in gilded brass struck with a flaming bomb surmounting two crossed barrels with false chinstrap in gold braid. Visor in black waxed leather, square in shape with a horse-folded leather rush sewn on the outer edge, lined inside with a green sheepskin. Interior headband in black patent leather, gold-plated at the top. Inner headdress in black silk cloth.

Very good state of conservation, oxidation from use of the trimmings. Interior cap and headband replaced later.
