Body in dark blue cloth (H 5 cm at the front), scarlet piping. Scarlet cloth headband (H 3.9 cm). Metal cockade embossed with a radiant sun, tricolor lacquered, held by a half-spherical brass button and a scarlet wool braid. Black leather chin strap held on the headband by two black lacquered buttons. Square-shaped visor, black varnished and green waxed inside with black leather band folded astride the outer edge.
Inner headband in black waxed leather with headdress and crown lined with scarlet leather.
Lenticular wooden pompom covered with daffodil cloth bordered with madder cord (14th battalion) and garnished in its center with the number “5” in cut-out brass (.

Ellipsoid-shaped pompom covered with cloth in the battalion color: 1st: dark blue, 2nd: madder, 3rd: daffodil, 4th: sky blue, 5th: orange, 6th: light green, 7th: crimson, 8th: pink, 9th: purple, 10th: golden brown, 11th: buff, 12th: silver gray, Small staff: white); If the number of battalions requires other distinctions, the text specifies, the series starts again in the order of colors above, with a white wool cord surrounding the pompom.
The number on the pompom is that of the department and therefore the regiment to which the battalion belongs.
