CUSTOMS CAPTAIN'S TUNIC, model 1852, Second Empire. 27498
In dark green cloth with scarlet piping. Rounded collar at the front edged at the top with a silver embroidered wand, and embroidered on each side with two laurel branches in silver thread and cinnamon. Tunic closing straight at the front with nine buttonholes, silver metal buttons inscribed “DOUANE” framed by a laurel branch and an oak branch. At the back at the waist knot, two false vertical tabs with scarlet piping are each trimmed with two buttons. Fully green straight facings with scarlet piping garnished with two small module uniform buttons and three straight sewn silver grade braids. Shoulder strap in silver cord attached to the bottom of the collar by a small module uniform button on each shoulder.
