HELMET OF FIREFIGHTERS OF THE COMMUNE OF CARHAIX, type 1830, July Monarchy. 24564
Helmet made entirely of brass. Fixed visor stamped in relief with two crossed axes framed with laurel branches, bordered by a rush folded astride the outer border. Back band stamped with oak leaves. Neck cover circled similarly to the visor. Crest with fin decorated with twelve gadroons decreasing towards the rear and mask struck in relief with a flaming bomb. Front plate stamped and cut with a Gallic rooster placed on a terrestrial globe surmounting a shield with pyre, crossed axes and flaming bombs. This shield is framed by an oak and laurel branch, a ribbon bearing the inscription “SAPEURS POMPIERS DE CARHAIX”, all on a bundle of flags. Plumet holder with square section decreasing slightly towards the bottom. Chinstraps with one-piece chin straps stamped with scalloped scales and round rosettes stamped in relief with gadroons.
