In the shape of a truncated oblique cone, strong cardboard carcass covered with fine dark blue cloth, cap and bourdalou in blackened patent cowhide, frontal cockade stamped with tinplate rays painted in the national colors blue-white-red. False chinstrap made of a flat chain made up of circular copper rings, intertwined two by two.
Around the edge of the top of the headdress, fine gold braid in a cul-de-dé, in the middle a strip of orange wool woven directly into the braid. On each side, V-shaped chevron in gold braid and dark orange wool.
Brass plaque stamped in relief with the arms of the city of Paris. Black patent leather visor lined in brown morocco inside.
Inner headdress in blackened and glazed wolf-toothed sheepskin, interior covered in black synthetic fabric.

Bad condition, a few moth holes on the barrel, a few small chips and gaps in the varnish of the crown, half-missing interior cap, leather chin strap in poor condition.
