Brass frame. Guard at a branch. Short-tailed cap. Wooden handle covered in black waxed calfskin with brass filigree. Curved blade with hollow sides, length 88 cm, width at the heel 3.6 cm. Scarlet wool tie. Wooden scabbard covered in black waxed calfskin with three brass fittings and scalloped edges; they are stapled to the sheath with brass staples, steel bail rings with brass eyebolts.
Bleached buffalo strap.

Very good condition, slight damage to the leather of the scabbard.
NOTE :
This saber is identical to the saber that belonged to Brigadier OVISTE, who participated in the Egyptian campaign in the Dromedary Squadron. Saber part of the collections of the Army Museum, former Raoul and Jean Brunon collection, Château de l'Emperi in Salons de Provence, reproduced by Christian Ariès in notebook 26 of 1978, figure 2 and in the work of Michel Pétard “Sabers and swords”, volume 1, figure 129C, page 138.
