FIREFIGHTERS HELMET, type 1855, modified 1872, Third Republic.
Entirely in brass, crest stamped with 11 gadroons, plaque stamped in relief with a shield stamped with a flaming pyre and surmounted by a city crown, all framed by an oak branch and a laurel branch with crossed axes and ribbon bearing the inscription “Srs POMPIERS” (the name of the city has not been struck). Visor and neck cover surrounded by a folded brass bangle astride the outer edge. Chinstraps composed of a soft leather chin strap covered in black leather covered with a series of decreasing scales cut alternately into two and three festoons, with round-shaped rosettes stamped with circular moldings. Tubular plume holder with square section decreasing downwards. Inner headdress made up of a black leather headband.

Good condition, a few dents on the helmet, strap missing from one of the chin straps, upper canvas part of the cap missing.
