So-called three-cornered shape, H at the front 12 cm, H at the back 20.5 cm, in waterproof felt, bordered on each side of the horns with a silver braid woven with Hungarian stitch of 2, 7cm wide. Flat strap 4.8 cm wide, with a 4 mm black stripe in the center, ending in a point, strap length approximately 10.5 cm. Roundel in tricolor colors, diameter 7.8 cm. Silver metal uniform button stamped with the flaming bomb with the legend “Gendarmerie - Public Order”. Inner cap in black silk hot-stamped “André Berthet SPECIALTY OF UNIFORM HATS 96 Bd DE SÉBASTOPOL PARIS”.
