Brass frame. Three-pronged guard hallmarked with the “M” surmounted by a toothed wheel from the first-class controller Jean-Jacques Mouton, July 1798 to February 1809 and the hallmark “LW” in a crown of pearls from the inspector Benjamin Levavasseur, March 1798 to September 1803. Long-tailed cap. Calf-wrapped wooden handle with oval brass studs. Curved blade with hollow sides, 87.5 cm in length, stamped identically to the frame; back of blade signed “Mfture Nale du Klingenthal Coulaux Frères entreprs”. Natural buffalo tie. Steel scabbard with two bail bracelets with protruding bowl inlet fixed to the scabbard by means of two side screws; the scabbard is stamped “V” for verification.
