Brass frame. Guard with one branch hallmarked with a rooster (hallmark for revolutionary productions from 1793), marked “SIMONET”. Long tail cap, wooden handle covered in black waxed calfskin. Curved blade with hollow sides, length 80.5 cm, engraved on the back “KLINGENTHAL”. The obverse of the blade is engraved "Franse", hallmarked "B" surmounted by a Phrygian cap for the first class controller François-Antoine Bisch, July 1783-July 1798, (here we have the hallmarks from 1792 to 1798) and the hallmark with the lictor's beam. The reverse of the blade is engraved “Repe”. Wooden non-commissioned officer's scabbard covered in black patent leather with two large brass fittings decorated with features whose interior edges are cut into festoons, with brass bail eyebolts and steel rings. Scalloped steel stinger. Screed with bowl entry.
