Round silver medal, engraving by Désiré-Albert Barre, representing on the obverse the effigy of the Emperor bordered by the inscription “NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR”, bordered by a wreath of laurel leaves.
Reverse engraved with the inscription “MEXICO EXPEDITION 1862 - 1863” and the battle names “CUMBRES, CERRO-BORREGO, SAN-LORENZO, PUEBLA, MEXICO”.
Diameter 11 mm.
White ribbon with a red stripe and a green stripe of 5 mm placed diagonally and forming a cross, embroidered in the center with a black eagle with outstretched wings, holding a green snake by the beak and claws.
Width 23 mm.
Presented in an old frame with curved glass, decoration stapled on a moiré silk fabric and framed with branches of foliage.
