Round in silver, engraved by Barre, representing on the obverse the effigy of the emperor crowned with laurel framed by the legend “NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR” and bordered by a laurel wreath. On the reverse inscription “ITALY CAMPAIGN - 1859” framing the name of the battles of “MONTEBELLO, PALESTRO, TURBIGO, MAGENTA, MARIGNAN, SOLFERINO”. Diameter 30.3 mm.
Silk ribbon alternating 6 red vertical stripes of 4 mm and 5 white vertical stripes of 2 mm, it is bordered with a 1 mm white border. Width 3.6 cm.
Presented in a curved wooden frame.
