HELMET OF FIREFIGHTERS OF THE COMMUNE OF PONTVALLAIN, type 1885, Third Republic. 24549

Entirely in brass. Spherical bomb edged in the lower part with a protruding rim. Visor and neck cover spray-welded in the lower part, they are folded on themselves to form a border strip. First type crest decorated with a flaming bomb on the mask fixed to the bomb by means of eight screws, stamped brass front plate representing a shield stamped with a flaming grenade surmounted by a crown and a ribbon bearing the inscription “PONTVALLAIN FIREFIGHTERS” framed with oak and laurel branches. Tubular quill holder with square section decreasing slightly towards the bottom. Chin strap in black patent leather with metal buckle. Inner headdress in black leather cut into eight wolf teeth.
