SABER OF THE KING'S BODY GUARDS, model 1814, Restoration. 26546
Gilded brass frame. Guard with four branches forming a shell decorated with the Arms of France under a royal crown and on a trophy background of flags and oak and laurel branches. Long-tailed cap. Wooden handle covered with gray shagreen and double braided silver filigree. Tray hallmarked with the “B” under the star of inspector E.L. Borson, August 1814 to September 1816, from the Klingenthal Manufacture, and with a “B” under the fleur-de-lys in a circle of rings, hallmark of J.G. Bick used during the First Restoration from April 1814 to March 1815.
Blade 94 cm long, with hollow sides engraved with a weapons trophy, two fleurs-de-lys and the inscription “GARDES DU CORPS DU ROI. » on one side, and, on the other side, a trophy of the Armes de France and the radiant sun with his face. Back engraved “Manufre Rle du Klingenthal October 1815”. It is stamped on the heel with the “B” under star of inspector E.L. Borson, August 1814 to September 1816, and the “B” framed with laurel branches of controller 1st class J.G. Bick, 1812 to May 1815. Buffalo tie natural.
Scabbard of the first model 1814 in black patent leather with three gilt bronze fittings decorated with lines and hallmarked like the top. Brass rings.

Good condition, 80% gilding of the frame, blade in perfect condition with its original mirror polish, scabbard fittings partly faded.
