This plate can be compared to the rifle by Lange de Beaujour, lot 69, from the Albert Grosjean collection, sold on October 18, 1993 by Jean-Louis Picard, auctioneer and Philippe Missillier, expert.
Lange de Beaujour presented at the end of December 1841 to the society for the encouragement of national industry a rifle with four superimposed charges in the same barrel. He filed a patent on January 24, 1842. This same type of rifle was manufactured by the Dewalle brothers in Liège around 1850.
