HISTORY:
Regiment remained very confidential, among those having served during the Empire. It must be said that he spent his entire short career during the Spanish Civil War, ending it under the walls of Toulouse. Let's bring it out of oblivion through this study.
The 34th Light Infantry Regiment is formed according to a Decree of March 9, 1811 from the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th Auxiliary Battalions of the Army of Spain. These Auxiliary Battalions, made up of detachments from different Regiments, entered Spain in 1809 and formed a separate Division in Burgos in 1810. They had already taken part in various actions in the North of Spain (Asturias, Basque provinces, Old Castile , Santander, Leon). There are wounded officers, especially in the Santander region.
