Entirely in brass. The base of the bomb is bordered at the back with a band stamped with oak leaves. Visor stamped on a sand background with two crossed axes linked by a ribbon framed with oak branches. Visor and neck cover with saddle-folded rush. Crest with fins stamped with twelve gadroons separated by acanthus leaves and bordered with laurel branches, mask decorated with a flaming bomb. Stamped and cut brass front plate of an uncrowned imperial eagle holding in its claws the spindle of Jupiter and the terrestrial globe, placed on a coat of arms decorated with two crossed axes; coat of arms framed with oak and laurel branches with bundle of flags and ribbon bearing the inscription “SAPEURS POMPIERS DE PAINTRE”. Brass rosettes stamped with gadroons held in place using screws. Square section feather holder decreasing downwards.
