HELMET OF FIREFIGHTERS OF THE COMMUNE OF AGNETZ, type 1852, Second Empire. 25472
Entirely in brass. The base of the bomb is bordered at the front and back by a band stamped with protruding moldings. Mobile visor finished with a protruding stamped border decorated with two crossed axes linked by a ribbon. Neck cover with horse-folded rush, it is registered “77”. Crest with fins stamped with thirteen gadroons placed in a box with protruding molding, mask decorated with a flaming bomb. Stamped and cut brass front plate of an uncrowned imperial eagle holding in its claws the spindle of Jupiter and the terrestrial globe, placed on a coat of arms decorated with two crossed axes; coat of arms framed with oak and laurel branches with bundle of flags and ribbon bearing the inscription “SAPEURS POMPIERS D’AGNETZ”. Brass rosettes stamped with gadroons held in place by means of screws and retaining a brown leather chin strap (incomplete).

Very good condition, the interior cover is missing, leather chin strap partly missing.
NOTE :
This model of helmet does not have a track origin, it anticipates the Third Republic helmet known as “Countryman”.
