FIREFIGHTER OFFICER'S HELMET, Third Republic. 25477

Entirely in golden brass. The base of the bomb is bordered at the front and at the back with a band with protruding moldings. Visor and neck cover surrounded by a bead folded astride its outer edge. Crest with wings stamped with fourteen gadroons, mask decorated with a flaming bomb. Black horsehair caterpillar. Brass front plate stamped with a burning bomb placed on two axes and a bundle of flags, bomb itself framed by two laurel branches, in the lower part a ribbon bearing the inscription "DEVOUEMENT Srs FIREMEN". Brass chinstraps composed of two chin straps with rosette: each chin strap has a brass plate stamped with scalloped scales in relief, mounted on leather, round rosettes stamped with gadroons in relief with a screw in their center for attachment to the crest. Right chin strap finished with a golden cord finished with a tassel with soft fringes. Plume-holder with decreasing square section towards the bottom complete with its tightening screw.
