POLICE HAT AND DOLMAN SET THAT BELONGED TO CLÉMENT PASQUIER OF CHASSEUR À CHEVAL OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, Second Empire.

POLICE HAT, model 1854 with strap:
In light green cloth, madder piping, white braid, crest embroidered in white thread with a hunting horn and pomegranate. Light green pompom.
Hat body in light green cloth with madder wool cord piping. These pipings come together on the right side to form a point whose apex reaches the bottom of the hat.
Two elliptical-shaped side flaps in light green cloth bordered on their convex development with a white wool braid (width 2.8 cm); these two elliptical shaped pieces are sewn to the body of the hat.
On the front, in the curvilinear angle which outlines the recess of the two flaps, a bursting grenade is sewn into a hunting horn embroidered in madder wool threads (H 4.5 cm, width 3.5 cm).
At the front corner of the peak of the cap, a light green woolen tassel is attached.
Interior cap entirely in black waxed sheepskin, with leather tab bearing ink stamps dated 3rd quarter 1860, registered “2037” then re-registered “E 2040”.

DOLMAN:
Dolman model 1857, entirely in light green cloth, closing straight at the front with 18 pewter bell buttons stamped with the imperial eagle. The front is trimmed with 18 braids of white wool trimmed with five buttons each. The back is decorated at the top with a Hungarian knot in white piping. The seams and false pockets are trimmed with white piping on each side. Cloth collar of the white braided uniform. Madder cloth facings edged with a white wool braid forming a point. Interior lining in ecru canvas bearing the ink stamps of the regiment: imperial crown, followed by the inscription "Ch. de la G", dated 1st quarter 1862, registered "E 2040". Inner waist belt in brown brown.
