Avers : Visage, de profil, de la déesse romaine Cérès. Sur les côtés l'inscription « RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE ». Signée en bas par VAUTHIER GALLE F.
Revers : Couronne de chêne dans laquelle est gravée le nom (LAIGNEL) et le grade (SERGENT MAJOR DES SAPEURS-POMPIERS) ainsi que le nom de la commune (HAMELET) et de la date de la remise de la médaille (1892) ; autour de la couronne l'inscription « DÉPARTEMENT DE LA SOMME . MÉDAILLE D'HONNEUR. ».
