HELMET OF FIREFIGHTERS OF THE COMMUNE OF BREVANNES, type 1830, July Monarchy. 25452
Helmet made entirely of brass. Visor stamped in relief with two crossed axes, bordered with a rush folded astride the outer border. Neck cover circled similarly to the visor. Crest with fin decorated with thirteen gadroons decreasing towards the rear and mask cut out in the shape of a heart at its base and struck in relief with a flaming bomb. Front plate stamped with the Gallic rooster placed on the terrestrial globe with bundle of flags, oak and laurel branches and fire decoration in the lower part, all framed by a ribbon bearing the inscription “SAPEURS POMPIERS DE BREVANNES”. Mane of black horsehair. Plumet holder with square section decreasing slightly towards the bottom. Chinstraps with one-piece chin straps stamped with scalloped scales and round rosettes stamped in relief with gadroons. Inner headdress in black leather cut with seven wolf teeth.

Average condition, missing feather tightening screw as well as the threaded rod and the nut at the top of the feather holder, missing the lining of one of the chin straps.
