NAVAL DAGGER, model 1837, July Monarchy.
Black lacquered wooden handle, H 11.4 cm, marked "1845" on the wood in relief, and "38" at the front (this number could correspond to the battery number - cannon -). Nut serving as a bale ring and blade fastening in brass. Brass crosspiece marked with a cabled anchor, an "E," and a barely readable stamp. Triangular blade 17.1 cm long, width at the base 1.8 cm, thickness at the base 9 mm. This blade is a repurposed bayonet blade. Black leather scabbard, length 18.8 cm, with white buffalo loop and brass chape, leather on the scabbard hot stamped with "38."
