TITEUX (Eugène). History of the King's Military Household, from 1814 to 1830.
Paris, Baudry et Cie, 1890, in-folio, in original publisher's delivery, unbound in original folder. Complete with its 84 color plates.
Including a summary of its organization and campaigns under the ancient monarchy.
In addition to an added chromolithograph (Impr. Aubert), bearing the arms A. Goyet, the plates are divided into two groups: 73 drawings (ink and watercolor) and 13 lithographs by Titeux (Impr. Lemercier). All drawings were done between 1895 and 1896. The artist is DEGHILAGE, who worked from Titeux's engravings to give them a more personal touch while respecting the clothing details. Information about him is scarce (was he a close friend or collaborator of Eugène Titeux?). However, the quality of his drawings is undeniable.
In fairly good condition, except for the front page, plates 2 to 6, and plates 25 and 30 which are in poor condition.
