LIGHT CAVALRY SABER, model Year XI, First Empire. 25622
Brass mounting stamped on the quillon with the "F." of the controller J.B. Le Febvre, January 1811 - December 1813. Three-pointed guard signed "Versailles", stamped "J" in an oval, probably the hallmark of the director Jacquesson, 1809- 1812. Long-tailed cap. Wooden handle covered in black waxed calfskin with brass nails. Curved blade with hollow sides, length 87.5 cm, stamped "A" under the star of Inspector JF Alpy, January to March 1812, "B" of J.G. Bick, first class controller, 1809-1824 and "L" for the reviser FL Lobstein, 1804-1821 (marked around 1812), with spine signed “Manufture Imple Du Klingenthal September 181.. (1 or 2?). Steel scabbard with two bail bracelets, protruding bowl entrance.

Fairly good condition, frame in good condition, calf in poor condition, partly replaced by a more modern light brown waxed hide, blade in fair condition, scabbard with heavy oxidation.
NOTE :
This saber corresponds to the production during the Russian campaign. It has the rare Inspector Alpy hallmark.
