Gilt bronze mount. Four-pointed guard. Short-tailed crown. Horn handle, gilded brass filigree. Straight blade with double fuller, 91 cm in length, signed "Mre Impale de Châtt avril 1860 = O D'Etat Major mle 1855", stamped "S" under the star of F.A. Schütz, 2nd class controller from February 14, 1854 to June 29 2872, "B" under star in a shield of F. A. Bisch, controller 2nd class from February 16, 1844 to January 25, 1861, then controller 1st class until March 11, 1864, and "L" in an oval for A.C.E. Le Caruyer de Lainsecq, director from August 6, 1859 to March 31, 1862. Scarlet cloth tie. Steel scabbard with two bail bracelets and rings.

Perfect condition, close to new, horn partly discolored turned blond on its front face.
NOTE :
This saber is officially described on January 18, 1856. It is a lighter model of the rifle officers' saber. From this model will also be produced sabers for generals or for generals.
