Brass hilt. Guard with three branches in the shape of an "N," the main branch stamped with a cock mark (used for revolutionary productions from 1793 onwards) and signed "LEMAITRE." Cap with a short tail. Square-section handle made of wood covered in black waxed calfskin, copper wire filigree. Curved blade with hollow edges, 91.5 cm in length, stamped with a bundle of fasces and the cutler's mark "Langres." Black varnished leather scabbard with three brass fittings with scalloped edges, brass belt loops with steel rings.
