BRIGADE GENERAL SASH BELT, Third Republic. 24211

In mesh of gold and blue silk yarn (presenting six bands of unmixed gold and five bands of silk and gold, all equal in width and arranged alternately lengthwise). At the ends are sewn two trapezoidal tassels: the heads covered with gold cannetille applied in a checkerboard pattern, with a matte stitch, called “followed stitch”, slightly domed on both sides, bearing two stapled silver metal stars. The throats and skirts with long fringes have large matte cables.
