FIRE CAP, or STEEL FIRE HELMET, July Monarchy - Third Republic. 23938

In tinned iron, covered with black varnish, consisting of a half-spherical cap and a straight headband. Riveted visor and neck cover. Stamped brass frontal attribute representing two crossed axes linked by a ribbon and framing a flaming bomb. Chinstraps composed of scale-stamped brass chin straps, and each of an independent round rosette struck in relief with gadroons.

Good condition, fixations of the posterior rosettes, the interior cap is missing.

These helmets appeared under the July Monarchy, they were still presented in suppliers' catalogs in the 1900s.
