OFFICER'S SABER OF MOUNTED ARTILLERYMEN belonging to Marshal Hubert GAUMEL, model 1829, July Monarchy.

Gilt brass hilt. Guard with one branch decorated with palmettes and laurel branches. Oval pommel, cap with a short tail decorated with the rooster holding in its talons Jupiter's lightning bolt on a background of a bundle of flags. Handle made of wood covered with black waxed calf leather, brass filigree. Curved white blade with hollow edges, length 81 cm, spine signed "Manufre Rale de Klingenthal April 1830", blade engraved "Artillery Division of Bourbonne / Gaumel Hubert / Marshal of the logis 1832-1852". Steel scabbard with two suspension rings.
