MAJOR GENERAL DRESS SASH BELT, July Monarchy. 23388/91

In mesh of gold spun and scarlet silk, (presenting six bands of unmixed gold and five bands of alternating stripes of scarlet and gold silk, all equal in width and arranged alternately lengthwise). At the ends are sewn two trapezoidal tassels: the heads covered with gold cannetilles applied in a checkerboard pattern, with a dull stitch, called "followed stitch", slightly domed on both sides, with three silver stars stapled on each side. The throats and skirts with long fringes have large matte cables.
