WAR COMMISSIONER'S BELT PLATE, modèle du 1er vendémiaire An XII (24 septembre 1803), Premier Empire. 23014
Rectangular plate with rounded corners, H 6.6 cm, width 8.2 cm. It is made up of a brass tray covered with a silver plate. This tray is itself covered with a cover plate in stamped and openworked silver representing a bundle of spears tied by a crown of laurel leaves with two cornucopias from which flowers and fruits escape. In the background, two oak branches frame the beam, the whole bordered by a molding frame, width 0.8 cm, composed of protruding, flat and beaded strips. The rear part is complete with its trigger guard with two steel barbs and its hook, with white calfskin lining. It is signed by a goldsmith at the bottom of the tray on its right.
