CARABINIER OFFICER'S SABER, First Empire.
Brass frame. Five-pointed hilt forming a shell at the front decorated with a flaming bomb. Cap with short tail, wooden handle sheathed in black waxed calfskin with copper filigree. Curved blade with double hollow sides 94.6 cm long, on its front side signed on the heel "JS&C." and first third engraved with military and floral trophies, back side with heel engraved with a checkered cartouche and first third engraved with floral and military trophies, back of blade with an engraved volute on the heel. Black waxed leather scabbard with three line-decorated brass fittings cut into festoons. France. First Empire. Very good state.
