DRAGOON SWORD, 1783 model, known as Arco, modified during the Revolution.
Brass hilt. Three-branch guard forming volutes. In the lower part, the fleur-de-lis present on the 1783 model was mutilated and transformed into a bundle of fasces topped with a revolutionary bonnet (modification made from 1792). Plate stamped with a rooster (stamp for Revolutionary productions from 1793), signed underneath "VARNIER." Cap with a short tail, first model 1783, black waxed wooden handle with brass filigree, brass ferrule. Straight and flat blade, length 95.2 cm. Later natural leather knot. Black leather scabbard with three brass fittings, An 9 type.
